Meat is a 51-year-old rice farmer who is married, and lives with his wife and three daughters in Kampong Speu province. His wife works in a local factory, while all of their daughters attend a nearby public school. When Meat isn't working, he enjoys helping his wife with their housework, and playing with his daughters. In November 2021, Meat fell off a motorbike and injured his knee. He has had chronic pain since the accident, but he didn't visit a doctor or a hospital for treatment due to cost and inaccessibility. Instead, he has tried to ease his pain with medicine he found at his local pharmacy. For the past three months, however, he said his pain has crippled him, and he is now unable to walk. Meat learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, and sought their help. Now, on January 4th, surgeons at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will perform a joint arthrodesis procedure to fuse the bones in Meat's left knee, so that he will be able to walk without pain. Meat and his family need your help to fund this $600 procedure. Meat said: "I hope the doctors can fix my knee so I can work to feed my family."

Em is a 67-year-old rice farmer. He is from Kampong Cham province and has four sons, two daughters, and nine grandchildren. He lives with his wife and daughters who plant rice with him. He likes to listen to the news on the radio and join local ceremonies at his village pagoda. One year ago, Em developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurry vision and photophobia. He is no longer able to drive because his vision has deteriorated so much. It is also difficult for him to work on his farm. When Em learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for six and a half hours seeking treatment. On December 9th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $253 procedure. Em said: "I hope after surgery my eye will see clearly once again. I'll be able to drive my moto by myself and continue to work on my farm."

29-year-old Salam is a construction worker from Cambodia. He is unmarried and lives with his parents, one brother, and one sister in Prey Veng province. His parents are retired, thus he is responsible for most of the financial support for the family. When he's not working, he likes to play football with his friends. In April 2021, a construction column rolled onto Salam's leg at work, fracturing several bones in his right leg. After the accident, he went to a government hospital, where he had an operation on his ankle and tibia. An external fixation was performed to keep the fractured bones stabilized and in alignment. Now that all of his fractures have healed, Salam would like to have the hardware removed from his leg. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On March 17th, Salam will undergo a hardware removal procedure at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre, which will cost $304. This procedure will allow him to heal completely and return to his life as it was before his accident. Salam needs your help to raise the money to cover the costs of his care.
