Pisey is a 26-year-old driver from Cambodia. He lives in Phnom Penh, where he worked full-time as a personal driver. However, due to a car accident, Pisey cannot continue his occupation and finds himself confined to his home, where he resides, with his parents and grandmother, who work as rice farmers. He likes watching videos on social media and misses going out with his friends, working, and being active. On June 4th, another car crashed into him from the side, and Pisey fractured his right leg. He was taken to a nearby emergency hospital, where he had surgery to repair the fracture with external fixation. The fracture is healing well, but there is an infected wound at the site of the metalwork, and he can no longer afford treatment at the hospital where he was initially treated. He cannot walk or work and is in constant pain. When Pisey learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled there seeking treatment. On June 28th, surgeons at CSC will perform a skin graft procedure to help heal the wound and get him walking and able to work again. Now, Pisey needs help to fund this $487 procedure. Pisey shared that he hopes to be able to relieve the pain and get back to work as soon as possible.

Raphorn is a 27-year-old casino worker who lives in Prey Veang province with his parents and brother. His parents are rice farmers, and his brother repairs air conditioners. Several weeks ago, Raphorn accidentally cut his hand with a knife. He took care of his wound by visiting a pharmacy for dressings and medication, because he could not afford to visit a clinic. Several days after his accident, he noticed that the wound was red and swollen. He visited a nearby hospital, and the doctors informed him that he was suffering from cellulitis, a common but potentially serious bacterial skin infection, which would require an incision and drainage of the infected wound. The area surrounding the wound is now swollen, tender to the touch, and painful, and he is unable to work. When Raphorn learned about our medical partner Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), he traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On July 25th, surgeons at CSC will perform debridement of the infected skin and skin flap surgery to heal the wound infection so that he can work with his hand again. Raphorn is able to contribute $100 to the cost of the surgery and needs help with $673 to fund his procedure and care. He shared, "After surgery, I hope that my hand looks good and the infection is gone so I can go to work again."

Phearith is an 8-year-old child who lives with his parents and brother in Phnom Penh. His father works in a private company and his mother stays home to watch his younger brother, who is two years old. Phearith has a learning disability and attends a special school for children with autism. He enjoys drawing and painting at school. His favorite pastimes are swimming and riding his bicycle, as well as eating his mother's fried chicken and fried pork. Two days ago, Phearith's mother noticed that he was rubbing his ear and his ear was very red. It was difficult for him to tell his parents how he felt, and when his mother shined a flashlight in his ear, she saw a small black object. Phearith is very unhappy. If the object stays in his ear, it could lead to infection and long-term hearing loss. Phearith's family traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On September 15, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Now, Phearith and his family need help to raise $273 to fund this procedure. His father said, "I hope his ear stops being painful for our son, and the doctors can remove it."
