Samnang is a 3-year-old toddler from Cambodia. He lives with his parents in Kandal province, where his mom, dad, and grandparents all work as rice farmers. Samnang’s favorite things are playing hide-and-seek with his friends and eating fish noodle soup.
Samnang was born with a small mass on the front of his head. The mass has been diagnosed as a lipoma - a benign soft, fatty lump that grows under the skin. His parents took him for a consultation one year ago, and the doctors suggested waiting one year to monitor the mass’s growth. In the last six months, the mass has grown in size, and his family is worried it will continue to grow.
Samnang traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On August 9th, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Now, Samnang’s family needs help to raise $273 to fund this procedure. They contributed $75 to his care.
His grandmother said, “I hope my grandson can be happy and healthy, and we don’t have to worry about him anymore.”
