Mon is a 66-year-old grandmother from Cambodia. She is married and has one son, two daughters, and six grandchildren. Together, Mon and her husband work at a roadside drinks cart outside of their home.
Five years ago, Mon developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision and itchiness. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, and, as a result of her impaired vision, she has been working less and less.
Mon traveled for three hours to seek treatment from our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre. On April 27th, doctors at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will perform small incision cataract surgery and implant an intraocular lens in her right eye. After she has recovered, Mon should be able to see clearly. Now, she needs your help to fund this $253 procedure.
Mon said: “I hope after surgery my eye can see better and I can go back to selling drinks with my husband.”
