Diana is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. She is a mother to two children, both delivered through cesarean section themselves, and are studying in nursery school. Although she completed her senior year in school, Diana was unable to continue her education due to a lack of school fees. Initially, she stayed at home and focused on farming until she got married at the age of 17. Now she engages in farming on her small plot of land alongside her husband. They cultivate crops to feed their family and sell the surplus to generate income. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with family. Diana is currently expecting her third child. She's been receiving care throughout her pregnancy from the hospital and her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section because of her higher-risk for complications. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Diana undergo a C-Section on May 26th. This procedure will cost $252, and Diana needs your support. Diana says, "I hope to deliver a live baby and hope for good health once I am operated."

Sabin is a 63-year-old retired rice farmer. She is married and lives in Kampong Cham province with her elderly husband. They have one adopted daughter - a clothing garment worker - and three grandchildren. They all live together in a small house. At home, she listens to monks pray on the radio, looks after the house and children while her daughter is at work, and visits her local pagoda in her spare time. Three years ago, Sabin developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her light sensitivity, itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so is not able to go places on her own any more. When Sabin learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On July 18th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery, and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $253 procedure. Sabin said: "I hope after surgery I can see better, do more outside and help to take care of my grandchildren."

Eng is a retired rice farmer living in Kandal province, Cambodia. He and his wife had four children and fifteen grandchildren together, but sadly, Eng's wife passed away three years ago. Eng now lives with his oldest daughter, who supports Eng and her children by working in a nearby clothing factory. At home, Eng loves listening to music and playing with his grandchildren. Around two years ago, Eng developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces. He is worried about falling when walking, so he is unable to go places on his own. When Eng learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On November 9th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. The cost of the procedure is $253, and after recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Eng shared, "I want to be able to take care of myself and not have my family worry about me anymore."
