Reaksa is an 11-year-old student who is in the third grade at a school in her village. Her father works in construction and her mother works in a factory. She also has one brother. In her free time, Reaksa enjoys playing with her brother and playing at her friend’s house nearby.
One month ago, a preauricular sinus pit infection developed on Reaksa’s right ear. She experiences pain and discharge from the wound. Reaksa underwent mass removal surgery.
Reaksa will follow-up with post-op medications, rest for several days, then be able to resume her normal activities. She is excited to play with her friends again and return to school, as she no longer suffers from ear pain, fever, or
the ear discharge that she was self-conscious of.
Her mother shared, “We are relieved that Reaksa has recovered from her ear infection and is healthy again. It is important for her to go to school every day. We will no longer have to spend money on medication that didn’t even help her get better.”
