Samnang is a 41-year-old bladesmith from Cambodia. He lives in Phnom Penh with his wife and three of his four children. His oldest son is a monk, and the younger three are students. Samnang makes knives to sell in the market, and his wife stays at home to care for the house and their younger children. In his free time, Samnang likes to watch videos to improve his work skills. In January 2021, Samnang was in a motorbike accident that caused a fracture in his right clavicle. He visited an emergency clinic, where doctors fixated hardware to heal the fracture. Currently, Samnang experiences pain in his shoulder and frequent numbness in his arm and hand. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), can help. On May 10th, Samnang will undergo a hardware removal procedure to relieve his pain and improve functioning in his shoulder. CSC is requesting $304 to fund this procedure. Samnang contributed $100 to his care. He said, "I hope to go back to work as soon as possible without discomfort."

Teresiah is a 56-year-old woman from Kenya. She is the sixth of ten children and has one 20-year-old child of her own. She works as a domestic house helper in neighbors' houses. A couple of months ago, Teresiah began to experience symptoms such as swelling on the right side of her neck, feeling hot, headaches, rapid heartbeat, and difficulty swallowing. She was diagnosed with an enlarged right thyroid gland and needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse. Our medical partner African Mission Healthcare (AMH) is helping Teresiah receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on March 27th where surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. She and her family need help raising $625 to fund the surgery. Teresa shared, “I am requesting help so that I can be treated and be able to take care of myself and my child and not depend on my relatives.”

Magret is a 49-year-old small scale farmer from Uganda. She is a single mother of four children and lives in a two-room mud house. Her oldest child is 28 years old and recently received a diploma, but has not yet found a job. Her second born child unfortunately left school after primary school class seven due to a lack of school fees. Her thirdborn child is 21 years old and in secondary school class four, while her youngest is 17 years old and in secondary school class two. She pays for their school fees through her work as a farmer. Since August 2022, Magret has been experiencing lower abdominal pains. She visited a nearby health clinic where she was prescribed medication that helped for some time, but her symptoms returned earlier this year. She is in pain but cannot stop farming because she relies on it to care for her family. Magret has been diagnosed with uterine fibroids and needs to undergo a hysterectomy, or a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Magret receive treatment. On April 14th, she will undergo gynecological surgery at AMH's care center. Once recovered, Magret will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain. Now, she needs help raising $319 to fund her procedure and care. Magret shared, "I believe that I will get well through surgery. I hope to continue with farming comfortably after surgery so that I may be able to continue taking good care of myself and my family."
