Lim is a 61-year-old rice farmer from Kampong Cham province in Cambodia. She is married and has one son and two grandchildren. Lim's husband is also a rice farmer, while their son works in food service for weddings. Five years ago, Lim developed a pterygium - a non-cancerous growth - in her left eye. This condition is most often caused by cell damage in the eye due to too much exposure to the sun and results in visual impairment and physical discomfort. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is seeking $225 to cover the total costs of Lim's treatment. On February 6th, doctors at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will remove the abnormal conjunctiva from Lim's eye and replace it with a graft, which should prevent a recurrence. Lim is looking forward to being able to see clearly again and is hopeful that you will support her in funding her procedure. Lim said: "I hope after surgery my eye will stop watering and I can work comfortably, and not worry all the time."

Hab is a 68-year-old retired rice farmer from Kampong Cham province. She has four sons, three daughters and ten grandchildren. She lives with her retired husband and her youngest daughter, who is a tailor. At home, she enjoys visiting her local pagoda and cooking for her grandchildren. About two years ago, Hab developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision, a cloudy lens, and light sensitivity. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so is not able to go places on her own. When Hab learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for three and half hours seeking treatment. On December 13th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and implant a new lens in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $253 procedure. Had said: "I hope my vision improves and I can get around easily by myself. I want to be able help my daughter to do house work, and to cook for her and my grandchildren."

Babra is a small-scale business owner from Uganda. She is a mother of three children and has been married for the past twelve years. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She currently owns a fruit vending shop in her hometown where she sells mangoes, tomatoes, watermelons, and oranges for income, while her husband drives a taxi. They rent a one-bedroom home in a Rukungiri town. She is currently expecting her fourth child. Her doctors recommended that she deliver via a cesarean section (C-Section) because of three previous scars. This procedure will help prevent further complications that may arise if she does not deliver via C-Section. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMF), will be performing Babra's C-Section on February 17th. AMF is requesting $252 to fund this procedure.
