Daniel is a handsome 4-year-old boy. He is the third born in a family of three children. His father does not work because he has been sick, while the mother is a hawker of fruits, and her income is the sole income to sustain their family. Daniel is in pre-school and they hope he can feel better soon. Daniel’s mother has been struggling with him for three years, taking him to different hospitals without much relief. He has been having chronic tonsillitis and adenoiditis with symptoms like pain, fever, difficulty breathing and eating, sometimes coughing and vomiting with swollen tonsils. This has even affected his schooling. The mother decided to bring him to Nazareth Hospital where the Ear Nose Throat Surgeon ordered an Adenotonsillectomy to remove the tonsils and adenoids. Due to the socio-economic status of Daniel's family, they cannot meet the cost of this critical treatment. If not treated, Daniel will continue to have the pains and other symptoms and may develop complications like tonsillar abscess, middle ear infection, or rheumatic fever. “I am the sole breadwinner from my little income. At the same time, I feel bad to see my child suffering. I plead for help so that he can be treated and be well to grow up normally,” shared Daniel's mother.

Kanha is a kindergartener from Cambodia. She lives in Kampot province and attends the primary school in her village. Her mom is a cleaner in a restaurant, and her dad is a security guard. Their jobs are far from home, so Kanha spends most of her time with her grandma and friends in the village. Her favorite food is fried rice, and she loves playing with dolls. Kanha was born with a mass in her right cheek and on the right side of her back, near her shoulder. In the last year, the tumor has grown in size. The family traveled to Phnom Penh for consultation, and doctors advised they remove the shoulder mass first, and in 6-12 months, they will remove the mass in her cheek. She experiences discomfort, and the family worries the mass will continue to grow. On November 15, surgeons at the Children's Surgical Centre (CSC) will remove the tumor. Now, Kanha's family needs help to raise $273 to fund this procedure. Her grandmother said, "I hope she can start the treatment she needs to feel better. Thank you for your support."

Carlos, who is two months old, lives with his parents in the hills above La Paz, Bolivia. His father is an electrician, while his mother is a fruit seller. Carlos was born with a rare cardiac condition called coarctation of the aorta. As a result, Carlos' aorta - which is the the main blood vessel leading from the heart - is too narrow, causing blood to back up into the heart. In order to remedy this condition, Carlos will need to undergo surgery. Our medical partner, Haiti Cardiac Alliance, is helping Carlos' parents to access the care their child needs. On July 20th, surgeons at Hospital del Niño Dr. Ovidio Aliaga Uría will widen Carlos' aorta, restoring normal blood flow. Now Carlos and his parents need your help to fund this $1,500 procedure. Carlos' mother said: "Our son has been in hospitals ever since he was born. Our family is hopeful that after this surgery he can come home to live with us!"
