Buradina is a 72-year-old farmer from Uganda. She and her husband had three children together, but sadly her husband and two of her children have passed away. For the past twenty years, Buradina has experienced severe abdominal pain, back pain, and swelling. Due to her pain, Buradina has been unable to work and earn a living. Buradina was diagnosed with uterine fibroids, a type of noncancerous growth in the uterus, and a cystocele, a condition where abdominal support tissue weakens. To relieve her pain, Buradina needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus. However, due to her current inability to work, Buradina can't pay for her treatment on her own. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $219 to fund Buradina's surgery. On June 8th, she will undergo a hysterectomy at AMH's care center. Once recovered, Buradina will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain. Buradina says, "I am a very vulnerable elderly mother, and I appeal for your possible support. I myself cannot raise the required money. I will resume farming when all is well."

Alvin is a young boy from Uganda who just started kindergarten recently. Unfortunately, his school attendance has been sporadic for the last seven months due to pain from an inguinal hernia. Alvin has been struggling with on and off swelling from the hernia. His parents have tried using local herbs, but the boy has not been improving. He kept complaining of pain, and the parents decided to seek medical care at our medical partner's care center, Uganda Martyr's Ibanda Hospital. Alvin was quite curious and excited to visit the hospital for the first time, but soon learned that injections were not his favorite thing! However, Alvin is a brave little boy who is now scheduled for hernia repair surgery on November 28th. Alvin's parents are farmers; currently, they are short on cash as their crops are yet to mature for harvest. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $201 to fund Alvin's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably. Alvin's mother says, "I am overwhelmed by joy for the good news of sponsoring my child's surgery. May God reward you, and may you never lack. After surgery, he will be able to go back to school and play with other children comfortably.’’

Yesica is an 8-year-old girl who lives with her parents and 2 younger brothers in a mining city high in the mountains of central Bolivia. Her father works in construction, and her mother is a homemaker. Yesica is in second grade and loves attending school and learning about science. Yesica was born with a cardiac condition called patent ductus arteriosus, in which a hole exists between two major blood vessels near the heart. Blood leaks through this hole, leaving her weak and short of breath. Yesica needs surgery to heal this condition. Fortunately, our medical partner International Cardiac Alliance (ICA) can help. Yesica is scheduled for cardiac surgery on October 11th, during which doctors will sew the hole closed so that blood can no longer leak through it. After surgery, she will be able to be more active and grow up to be a strong young woman. Yesica's family and ICA need help raising $1,500 to fund the procedure and her follow-up medical care. Her mother shared, "Our family is very hopeful that Yesica will be stronger and healthier after her surgery."
