Sambath, who is 34 years old, lives with his wife and two children in Kampong Speu province. His wife stays at home to care for their young son and daughter, while Sambath works as a driver. In his free time, he meets up with friends in his village to play football, and he also enjoys cooking. For the past year, Sambath has lived with a persistent sinus infection. He experiences fevers, headaches, swelling, and congestion. It's hard for him to sleep because he has difficulty breathing, and he is constantly taking medication to try to unblock his nose. Doctors have advised Sambath that surgery will help to relieve the severe pressure in his sinus, and will allow his nose to be drained, enabling him to breathe normally again. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $319 to fund the endoscopic sinus surgery that Sambath needs, which is scheduled for August 15th, at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre. Sambath told us that he wants to get better so he can have more energy to take care of his family and find a better job.

Lav is an elderly widow, who lives with her youngest son in Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. Her other five children live nearby, and work in factories and rice paddies. Lav's favorite activities are spending time with her six grandchildren, and going to the pagoda in her village to pray and volunteer. Five years ago Lav developed a cataract in her left eye, which causes her to experience itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. Because her vision is impaired, she is reluctant to go out and about on her own. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $253 to fund cataract surgery for Lav. On July 3rd, doctors at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will perform small incision cataract surgery, and implant an intraocular lens in her left eye. After she has recovered, Lav will be able to see clearly again. Lav said: "I hope that I can enjoy my life and walk places on my own."

Catherine is a smallbusiness woman and mother of four. She pursued a diploma in business administration, but unfortunately, she has been unable to secure a job in her field. As a result, she operates a small retail shop to earn a living. However, due to its remote location in the village and limited capital invested, her income from the shop is limited. To supplement her earnings, she engages in farming. Her husband is involved in the bodaboda (moto-taxi) business and together they reside in a two-room rental house. While they can manage their daily expenses with their combined income, they cannot gather the necessary funds for the surgery that Catherine needs. Catherine is currently expecting a new baby. Because her pregnancy is high risk and she previously lost another baby to miscarriage, her doctors recommend that she deliver via a cesarean section. This recommendation aims to prevent complications such as uterine rupture, which could be life-threatening. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Catherine undergo a C-Section on July 11th. This procedure will cost $252, and Catherine needs your support. Catherine says, “I am looking forward to a successful delivery, if I am given your support, because I am worried about my hospital bill.”
