Kenan is a 29-year-old small-scale farmer. He is an intelligent, gentle, and social young man who shared that he is still single due to strained financial issues, and he hopes to get married in a few years to come. He is the youngest in a family of three, with two brothers - one is a teacher and the other is a peasant farmer. Kenan is an orphan and was raised by his elder brother. He has a degree in agriculture but was unable to get a job in his profession, so he is now involved in farming. However, due to challenges like limited land and lack of enough capital, he earns less. Despite this, he is actively involved in politics and even holds the position of local council in his village. For four years, Kenan has had a right reducible inguinal hernia. He experiences on the right side of the inguinal region (groin area). He has been taking painkillers in hopes of getting better, but all of his efforts have been in vain. He reports feeling pain when working or standing for long hours, as well as consistent abdominal pain when lifting heavy objects. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), can help. On August 8th, Kenan will undergo hernia repair surgery at AMH's care center. AMH is requesting $230 to fund Kenan's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. Kenan says, “The only hope I have of getting better with this condition is by surgery and if I get your support, I surely believe all well be well.”
