Sathya is a charming, 4-year-old boy, living in Cambodia with his parents and younger sister. At home, he enjoys painting and drawing, and his favorite foods are Cambodian soup and fried eggs. Yesterday, Sathya was playing at home with a small object. His mother saw him stick a small, round, green item into his ear, and then realized, too late, that it had become stuck. Sathya is scared, and he also has pain in his right ear. Sathya's family sought help from the doctors at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre. On January 10th, surgeons at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will remove the object from Sathya's ear. Now, Sathya and his family need help to raise $273 to fund this procedure. Sathya's mother said: "I hope after removing this from my son's ear, he is not in pain anymore."

Samorn is a 79-year-old nun living in a rural village in Kandal province, Cambodia. Sadly, her husband passed away 20 years ago and Samorn has lived and worked in a pagoda ever since. She enjoys cooking and meditation. One year ago, Samorn developed a cataract in her left eye, which causes her itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. Because she has difficulty seeing clearly, she is no longer confident about going places on her own. When Samorn learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for two hours to seek treatment. On May 8th, doctors at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will perform small incision cataract surgery and implant an intraocular lens in her left eye. After she has recovered, Samorn will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs your help to fund this $253 procedure. Samorn shared: "I hope I can see more clearly and do more at the pagoda and visit the temples further away some time."

Sarom is a 41-year-old silk weaver living in Kandal province in Cambodia. She is divorced from her husband and has one daughter who sells cosmetics at the local market and one son who is still in school. About six months ago, Sarom developed a chalazion in her left eye, which causes her pain, itchiness, and irritation. A chalazion is an inflamed cyst in a patient's tear gland. Because of her condition, it is difficult for Sarom to see well enough to weave. Sarom traveled for two hours to seek treatment from our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre. On May 9th, surgeons at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will remove the cyst through a chalazion excision procedure. After she has recovered, Sarom's symptoms should improve. She needs your help raising $210 to fund this procedure. Sarom shared: "I hope after surgery my eye stops being itchy, I will feel happy, and I will be able to go to back work."
