Sak is a 14-year-old boy from Cambodia. His father is a teacher, and his mother sells clothes at the market. He has one younger sister who is eight years old and in the third grade.
Since birth, Sak’s left toes have been contracted making it difficult for him to walk without pain. He likes to play football but has trouble because of the contractures on his foot.
Fortunately, our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), can help. On November 17th, surgeons at CSC will perform a flexion tenotomy of the left foot and osteotomy of the fifth metatarsus to release the contractures. After surgery, Sak will be able to walk without pain. Now, he and his family need help raising $487 to fund his procedure and care.
Sak shared, “I hope my foot heals and I can wear shoes and walk easily after surgery. I want to play football with my friends without pain.”
