Chanly is a 32-year-old woman. She has three sisters and three brothers. Chanly’s parents are farmers.
Two months ago, Chanly had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in her left ear to perforate. For this reason, Chanly experiences pain, discharge, and can’t sleep well at night because of discomfort. She cannot communicate clearly with others.
Chanly traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On November 2nd, she will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in her left ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $464 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
Chanly’s mother says, “I hope my daughter’s hearing will improve and the discharge will stop after surgery.”

Chanly said: “Thank you for your help. I am relieved that I don’t have pain in my ear, and the infection will not return. I can help my family, and not be ashamed anymore about my ear.”
