Victoria is a 3-month-old baby from Bolivia. She lives with her mother in a neighborhood in La Paz. Her mother makes and sells handcrafted hats for a living. Victoria was born with a cardiac condition called Total anomalous pulmonary vein return. With this condition, the major blood vessels connect to Victoria's heart at abnormal locations, making it difficult for blood to flow through her lungs and leaving her weak and short of breath. Fortunately, our medical partner, Haiti Cardiac Alliance, can help Victoria receive the treatment she needs. On July 12th, she will undergo cardiac surgery, during which the doctors will disconnect the blood vessels and reattach them at the anatomically correct locations. Our medical partner is requesting $1,500 to fund VIctoria's surgery costs. Victoria's mother said, "I am very hopeful that my daughter will be able to breathe normally and gain weight after this surgery!"

Kyarisiima is a 36-year-old woman who is in need of surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. She is a farmer, and her husband is a primary school teacher. For over three months, Kyarisiima has been suffering from severe abdominal pain. Due to the pain, she is unable to do anything at home other than sleep. She finds it difficult to cook or help with the washing, something that greatly affects her quality of life. Fortunately, Kyarisiima came to the care center of our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH). Her doctors were able to diagnose Kyarisiima with hemorrhagic ovarian cysts and recommended cystectomy treatment. She is at risk of the cyst rupturing or twisting, which can cause death or other complications, so they scheduled the surgery to occur as soon as possible, on June 8th. AMH is requesting $220 to help fund her care and procedure. Kyarisiima says, "I am in much pain, and I request your assistance with my surgery so that I can live well again like previously and help with farming."

Amina is a 48-year-old woman who works as a nanny. She accounts for only one family relative, a cousin. The rest of her family, including her grandparents and her mother, who was also an only child, have unfortunately passed away. Amina became really tearful when she started sharing her story. From a young age, her menses have been heavy and painful. This condition has intensified over the past year. She explained that she has struggled with her condition for so long to the extent of giving up on getting any treatment. Amina has been experiencing severe bleeding, lower abdominal pains, dizziness and headache. She has also been treated for anemia and depression. She has been diagnosed with multiple fibroids and needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus to finally help her heal. Our medical partner African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF) is requesting $755 to fund Amina's surgery scheduled for July 26th. Once recovered, Amina will be able to live her lifer free of pain. “I am so desperate and alone. I kindly plead for support so that at least my health can be back to normal, and I can resume my job and support myself,” said Amina.
