Phayouk is a 6-year-old student from Cambodia. His family comes from Kandal province, across a river from Phnom Penh city. He has an older sister and an older brother. To support the family, his father works as a security guard and his mother sells drinks in front of their home. Phayouk has just started the first grade and loves learning his letters and painting pictures at school. He enjoys riding his bicycle with his older siblings and playing with toy cars. At home, he likes to eat fried eggs and drink milk.
About three months ago, his mother noticed that Phayouk was having difficulty breathing and was congested. Lately, he has been sneezing a lot and emits a bad smell from his nose. He experiences pain and chronic congestion. As a result of his congestion and probable infection, his parents need help extracting whatever he put up his nose.
Phayouk and his parents traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On September 20th, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Phayouk’s family needs help to raise $273 to fund this procedure.
His parents said: “We hope our son will get well and stop his nose infection and bad smell.”
