Kosi is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. She currently lives with and cares for her aging mother after separating from her husband 20 years ago and losing her children in their early years of life. For over four years, Kosi has been experiencing lower abdominal pain and abnormal vaginal discharge. She has been diagnosed with multiple uterine fibroids. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus. On February 6th, she will undergo a hysterectomy at our medical partner's care center. Once recovered, Kosi will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain. Kosi needs help raising $319 to fund her procedure. Kosi says, “I seek medical assistance so that I may be able to live a good life once again. I will continue with farming to help me take care of myself and my mother.”

Sruon is a 62-year-old fried banana seller from Cambodia. She is married and has three sons, three daughters, and five grandchildren. Sruon lives with her husband and their youngest daughter, who is still in school. In her free time, Sruon likes to listen to the news on the radio. Two years ago, Sruon developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so she is not able to go places on her own. When Sruon learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On November 16th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help raising $253 to fund her procedure and care. Sruon shared, "I hope I can go outside easily and recognize things well after surgery."

Gladys is a Kenyan mother of seven. She and her husband are small-scale farmers and sell potatoes to provide for their children. Currently, their income is not enough to cover their medical bills. A few weeks ago, Gladys was involved in a road accident involving a motorcycle that resulted in a degloving wound on her left leg. Degloving injuries are injuries where the upper skin and tissue layers are torn from the lower muscle or bone. Last week, she successfully underwent a wound debridement procedure, and the wound is now clean. The surgeon has recommended a skin grafting procedure to be done while the wound is still in good condition. She is appealing for financial assistance to undergo the procedure, which is scheduled for February 9th. Gladys has accumulated a huge hospital bill that she and her family have been unable to pay. As a result, she needs help raising $1,089 to fund her skin grafting procedure, which will allow her to heal quickly and attend to her children Gladys says, ”My long stay in the hospital has really worried me. I don’t know how my children are doing and that has traumatized me. Kindly help me get treatment so that I may be able to go home.”
