Leakhena is an active 2-year-old toddler. She is the youngest of three children. They live in Phnom Penh where her father is a tuktuk driver and her mother is a homemaker. At home, Leakhena loves to play with her older brothers and eat ice cream.
Since she was born, she has had a small lump on her left forehead that has recently been developing in size. When her mother touches it, a bloody discharge oozes out and her mother is very worried. They are unable to afford a private clinic visit.
Leakhena and her mother traveled to our medical partner Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC) to receive treatment. On June 27th, surgeons at CSC will perform a surgery to remove the mass. Her family is able to contribute $100 to the surgery, and they needs only $273 to fully fund the procedure.
Her mother said, “I hope that she doesn’t have a lump on her head after surgery, and she will look pretty like other young girls.”
