Sula is a 30-year-old farmer from Uganda. He is a father of two school-aged children. He is a casual laborer on other's farms to complement his income from subsistence farming. His wife is also a farmer. Sula, his wife, and their 2 children live in a 3-bedroom house. He loves football. For some time now, Sula has experienced swelling around his scrotal area. The swell becomes more painful when he does strenuous work. He visited Nyakibale hospital and on review had surgery recommended to remove the mass. He is not able to raise the funds needed and thus appeals for help. Sula traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On February 7th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Sula needs help to raise $137 to fund this procedure. Sula hopes to be treated and resume his day-to-day work without the pain he is currently experiencing.

67-year-old Sikora is a small-scale farmer and mother of seven, living in Uganda. While Sikora was never able to attend school, she and her husband, who farms and does casual labor around the village, struggle to raise the money necessary to ensure their children's education. For the past 15 years, Sikora has been experiencing lower abdominal pains, accompanied by an abnormal vaginal discharge. These symptoms started four months after the delivery of her seventh child, during which she experienced complications and prolonged labor. Over the past five years, the pains have worsened, and she has been unable to find relief, despite taking various medications. Ultimately, she was diagnosed with chronic pelvic pain due to pelvic inflammatory disease, and doctors have recommended surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $319 to fund the hysterectomy that Sikora needs to enable her to resume her daily activities without pain. On February 6th, she will undergo gynecological surgery at Rushoroza Hospital. Now she needs your help to cover the costs of this procedure. Sikora says: “I have been in pain for a long period of time. I pray that I may get well through surgery so that I may continue to practice farming for the well-being of my family.”

Hor is a sweet and curious toddler from Cambodia and the only child in her family. Her mother works in a garment factory, while her father works as a motorbike mechanic. Like many toddlers, her mother shared that Hor loves to eat milk and fruit as well as stay busy playing with her toys! In mid-January, Hor fell while she was playing and dislocated her elbow. She is experiencing pain and cannot use her arm properly. Fortunately, her parents were able to bring her to our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), for review. On February 9th, Hor will undergo surgery to reduce her pain and improve her mobility. CSC is requesting $485 to cover the cost of this procedure, and Hor's family was able to contribute $75 to her care. Her mom shared, "I hope her arm will get better, so she feels better."
