Sat is a 78-year-old loving grandmother from Prey Veng province. She has eight children and eighteen grandchildren. Since her husband passed away seven years ago, she has been living with her oldest daughter, who supports the family by working as a rice farmer. Sat enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and going to her local pagoda.
One year ago, Sat developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision and sensitivity to light. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, thus is unable to travel on her own.
When Sat learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On March 7th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and place an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $253 procedure.
Sat said, “After surgery, I hope I can help my daughter more around the house and cook for my grandchildren.”
