Pinchhang is a 51-year-old road construction worker from Cambodia. He works and lives alongside his brother in rural Cambodia. They are originally from China. In his free time, Pinchhang likes to cook and socialize with other construction workers. In 2022, Pinchhang was in a motorbike accident and fractured his right forearm. He went to an emergency clinic after the collision and doctors performed an open reduction of the fracture and implanted hardware. Now the bone is healed, but Pinchhang continues to experience aching in his arm. As a result, doing heavy work on the construction site is difficult for him. Fortunately, surgeons from our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), can help. On July 4th, Pinchhang will undergo a hardware removal procedure at CSC's care center. During the procedure, surgeons will remove the hardware from Pinchhang's arm so he can return to his previous level of work. Now, CSC is requesting $304 to cover the cost of the procedure. Pinchhang said, "I hope to not worry about the hardware, I won't have pain at night and can work hard again to support myself."

Sabina is a 60-year-old soft spoken and social lady. She was never married and has no children. She stays with her elder sister, a farmer. Due to financial constraints, she never had the chance to attend school, but with the help of her nephews, she learned to read and write. Sabina farms for a living but due to limited land, she is able to grow little to feed and contribute to the family she stays with. Two years ago, Sabina began experiencing troubling symptoms, including neck swelling. This causes shortness of breath, pain in swallowing, difficulty in breathing and fatigue even when engaged in a small activity. Sabina was diagnosed with a non-toxic goiter, an abnormal enlargement of the thyroid gland. Sabina needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Sabina receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on September 5th at our medical partner's care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $252, and Sabina and her family need help raising money. Sabina says, “I hope to get well and expect and hope for a complete recovery once I am operated on.”

Yusufu is a bright student. He is a young 8-year-old boy from Mpanda, Tanzania, with dreams of attending school. His parents work as farmers supporting their large family of ten children. As the ninth child in his family, his parents have made every effort to make ends meet. Yusufu has clubfoot of the right foot. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. This causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes. Yusufu finds it hard to go to school because it is far from home, and he cannot help much on the farm. Financial hardships have made it nearly impossible for his parents to provide Yusufu with the urgent care he requires. Fortunately, Yusufu's family traveled to visit our medical partner's care center, The Plaster House NGO. There, the team will begin clubfoot treatment on September 15. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $935 to fund Yusufu's clubfoot repair. After treatment, Yusufu’s ability to walk will be restored and he will no longer experience severe pain. Yusufu can't wait to be treated so that he can go to school easily and help his family work on their farm. Yusufu says, "I wish to be able to play with my friends comfortably and help my parents around the farm.”
