Sorng is a 24-year-old rubber farmer who lives in Prey Veng province with his wife and in-laws. Sorng collects sap from the rubber trees at a nearby rubber plantation, and both his parents and in-laws are rice farmers. In his free time, he enjoys singing and doing karaoke.
In September 2022, he was running an errand for his mother-in-law when a truck crashed into his motorbike and caused a fracture in his left leg. He was treated at a nearby clinic and received medicine from a traditional healer in his village, but the fracture has not healed. It is difficult for him to walk, and he is in chronic pain.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On September 19, Sorng will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $483. This procedure will allow him to walk easily again.
He shared, “I hope I can start to walk on my own again and go back to work to support my family.”
