Bridget is a small-scale farmer. She studied up to the seventh grade in school but had to drop out due to lack of school fees. Her husband too does small scale farming to earn a living for their family. They own a two-room mud house for shelter, and it normally takes her 2 hours to access the nearest water source. During her free time, Bridget enjoys spending time with her family. Bridget is currently expecting her first child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section because it is a prolonged pregnancy with complications. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Bridget undergo a C-Section on May 11th. This procedure will cost $214, and Bridget needs your support. Bridget says, “I pray for a successful surgery. I will resume farming after I am better.”

Khorn is a 64-year-old tamarind farmer who spends her free time visiting her local pagoda with her sister, who lives in the same village. About two years ago, Khorn developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, thus is unable to travel on her own. When Khorn learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for an hour and a half to seek treatment. On March 9th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery to implant an intraocular lens in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $253 procedure. Khorn said, "I hope after surgery I can see better and take better care of myself."

Britney, who is seven years old, lives with her mother in Thika, Kiambu County, in Kenya. Britney's mother is unemployed and they depend upon Britney's aunt for support. Britney was healthy at birth. However, when she turned two, her mother noticed that her legs bowed out as she tried to walk. Britney went to different hospitals for evaluation, but her condition continued to deteriorate. Britney underwent successful surgery on her left foot in October 2022. Now that she has recovered, the surgeons want to perform an osteotomy on her right foot, which will correct the angle of the bone and enable Britney to walk more easily, without suffering any pain. Britney's surgery is scheduled to take place on May 2nd at AIC Cure International Hospital. As her family was unable to raise the estimated hospital bill of $1,224, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is seeking your support to fund this life-changing procedure.
