Dul is a 70-year-old woman who retired from her work rice farming and now stays home to look after her grandchildren. Dul shared that she has two daughters and five grandchildren, and she lives with her youngest daughter.
Two years ago, Dul developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision, photophobia, and tearing. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking. As a result, she is unable to go places on her own.
When Dul learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), she traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On February 3rd, doctors will perform cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. CSC is requesting $229 to fund Dul’s procedure.
Dul shared, “After surgery, I hope my eye can see well. I would like to join in ceremonies at the pagoda.”
