Panha is a 5-year-old kindergartener who lives in Kampong Cham with his parents and two sisters. His parents work in a nearby clothing factory, and Panha is the middle child. He loves drawing and watching Tom and Jerry on his mom's phone. His favorite meal is fish soup and sugarcane juice. Three months ago, Panha began experiencing a sore throat and difficulty swallowing. He is losing weight, and unable to sleep well from the pain. Panha was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $265 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Panha, which is scheduled to take place on September 21st. Surgeons will remove his tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Panha of his symptoms and helping him live much more comfortably. His mom shared, "I hope Panha can eat and drink normally, and return to school without feeling unwell."

Moses is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. As a farmer and a father of two primary school children, he works hard but is unable to raise the money necessary for the surgery he needs. He seeks your support to regain his ability to work and fulfill his responsibilities toward his family. For the past year, Moses has experienced excruciating pain and discomfort, significantly impairing his capacity to work and provide for his family. Fortunately, he will be able to undergo hydrocele repair surgery at our medical partner's care center. To support this crucial intervention, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is seeking $146 in funding. This procedure will hopefully relieve Moses from discomfort and enable him to lead a more comfortable and confident life. Moses says, “I cannot raise the money for my surgery as currently I am not doing anything with my hands due to this condition. Following this surgery, I hope to resume farming for a living.”

Sabin is a 63-year-old retired rice farmer. She is married and lives in Kampong Cham province with her elderly husband. They have one adopted daughter - a clothing garment worker - and three grandchildren. They all live together in a small house. At home, she listens to monks pray on the radio, looks after the house and children while her daughter is at work, and visits her local pagoda in her spare time. Three years ago, Sabin developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her light sensitivity, itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so is not able to go places on her own any more. When Sabin learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On July 18th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery, and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $253 procedure. Sabin said: "I hope after surgery I can see better, do more outside and help to take care of my grandchildren."
