David is a 17-year-old student from Kenya. He aspires to become a surgeon to help patients and children in need with different deformities. David, who is the third child in a family of four, lives in a children’s home based in Mombasa (Rainbow Children’s Home) together with his siblings. His mother does menial jobs, and is unable to support the children, so they are getting help from the orphanage. He is currently a 7th-grade student at the Rainbow Academy, a school nearby.
David has clubfoot on both feet. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. This causes difficulty walking and even wearing shoes.
Fortunately, David traveled to visit our medical partner’s care center, AIC Cure International Hospital. There, surgeons will perform clubfoot repair surgery on February 27th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,286 to fund David’s clubfoot repair. After treatment, he will be able to walk easily.
David said, “I want to become the best surgeon in the world so as to offer my experience and services to needy children.”

David underwent clubfoot repair surgery so that he can walk well and head back to school.
David was admitted to the hospital and underwent a successful left foot Percutaneous Achilles Tendon lengthening surgery. This treatment is expected to have significant benefits for David, as it will enable him to regain normal walking function and continue with his education without limitations. With the successful outcome of the surgery, David can now look forward to a brighter future, where he can pursue his educational goals with renewed confidence and mobility.
“Ever since I was a young boy, I never thought I would be able to walk well like my friends; when I started going to school, I promised myself to work hard so I could be able to pay for my surgery, I love football, and I have always wanted to play, but due to my condition, I was unable. I want to give all my thanks to the team at Cure hospital sincerely for making my dreams come true and taking care of my surgery to heal my legs; I want to thank all the doctors, the nurses, the donors for catering to my health expenses and God bless them abundantly and give them more so they can continue helping,” David told us.
