Say is a day labourer. He lives with his family parents and sister in Burma. During his free time, Say likes to spend time on his phone, watching the news, and listening to gospel songs and sermons. Since January 2023, Say has been experiencing pain in his groin area, back, and lower abdomen. He cannot sit for long periods of time and feels uncomfortable when he walks due to tenderness in the area. He has been diagnosed with a mass in his groin area. Our medical partner Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF) is requesting $1,500 to cover the cost of a mass/cyst removal operation, scheduled for June 12th. Say shared, "I feel so fortunate that God has presented me with donors who can support my treatment. I would love to express my gratitude to thank all of you, BCMF and my donors, for your support. If I complete my treatment and recover completely, I will work around the house raising animals and growing vegetables."

Kolyan is a 66-year-old retired cleaner from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Her parents passed away about 50 years ago during the Khmer Rouge regime. She has one brother and currently lives with her nephew, who helps care for her. Kolyan's favorite hobbies are watching Cambodian comedies and praying at the pagoda. A little over a year ago, Kolyan developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her to experience itchiness and blurry vision. Lately, she has been having greater difficulty with tasks around the house, such as cooking and cleaning. She cannot see things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so she does not go out on her own. When Kolyan learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), she traveled for an hour seeking treatment. On June 14th, doctors will perform cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. CSC is requesting $253 to fund this procedure. Kolyan shared, "I want to be able to see better and go back to my normal life. I want to continue working as a cleaner and help support my nephew. I also want to be able to see my TV shows."

Samson is an eight-year-old boy from Mpanda, Tanzania. He is the third born in a family of six children. His father diligently tends to a small farm that supplies their food, while the mother undertakes various daily jobs to contribute to the household income and assist with household tasks. Nevertheless, these endeavors present difficulties in fully meeting the family's needs. Samson currently needs medical intervention due to a condition he has been experiencing that limits his mobility. At the age when he began walking, signs of bowed legs started to appear. Unfortunately, as he grew older, the condition worsened, causing concerns for his parents regarding his future. During one of our medical partner's outreach visits to Samson's village, we had the opportunity to inform his parents about a potential surgical treatment for their son's condition. They were overjoyed to learn there may be help for their son. Upon arrival at our medical partner's care center, Samson and his guardian were warmly welcomed by their team. After a brief intake procedure, he was sent for an assessment. Our medical partner's team subsequently diagnosed him with a left genu varus, which will require surgical treatment to correct his left leg and alleviate the discomfort he is currently facing. Samson's condition is typically caused by an excessive accumulation of fluoride in the bones, often from contaminated drinking water. This condition has also posed difficulties for Samson in terms of starting and attending school, as the school is located approximately four kilometers away from their home. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $880 to fund corrective surgery for Samson. The procedure is scheduled to take place on June 6th. Treatment will restore Samson's mobility, allow him to participate in school and various activities, and significantly decrease his risk of future complications. Samon's guardian says, "We wish that his condition gets better. We are praying for a better outcome from the treatment."
