Heng Ly is a 66-year-old vegetable seller. He is married and has one son, one daughter, and two grandchildren. Heng Ly lives with his wife, who is also a vegetable seller, and their daughter, who is a teacher. In his free time, he likes to watch the news on television.
One year ago, Heng Ly developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him blurry vision, sensitivity to light, and tearing. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so he is not able to go places on his own.
When Heng Ly learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for an hour seeking treatment. On March 2nd, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Heng Ly shared, "I hope I can see clearly again so I can look after my grandchildren."
